About the plant

Spruces usually grow free-standing in mountains and reach a height of up to 60 meters. The spruce is particularly at home in mountain forests like the Alps. Isabel Arends writes in her book Tree Medicine "In spring, spruce trees want to be tickled at their roots by the rushing subterranean condensation from melting snow." Spruces can live up to 600 years.
