KOBASHI LIQUID SHAMPOO BASE

with organically grown aloe vera, jojoba, wheat germ oils & vitamin e
Gentle yet effective cleanser.

A mild fragrance free conditioning shampoo creating soft, managable, full bodied hair

Formulated for you to add the essential oils of your choice. No added colourings.

Due to the natural ingredients in the shampoo there will be natural colour variations and will not change your hair colour. Colour is created by the natural Vitamin e, natural Jojoba and natural Wheatgerm in reaction with the surfactants.

We believe it is most important that Kobashi shampoo is mild, cleans, helps hair, skin, feels good and is not irritating or drying.

TO USE: Turn the bottle upside down and shake well before use. Rinse well with water after use.

Kobashi Shampoo Base, has been formulated to work with essential oils and work fine without them. You only need a few drops of essential oil per 10ml. The way I use them is either add 1 to 3% essential oil: depending which essential oil I am using: see side of essential oil bottle for recommended %.

A quick guide to amounts of oil to use:

Pour about a tablespoon in your cupped hand, add 1drop of essential stir hands together.

Alternatively add drops of essential oil to 250ml Shampoo bottle.

1%: 2.5ml or 50drops
2%: 5ml or 25drops
3%: 7.5ml or 150drops

" Scott did use Kobashi shampoo everyday for 25 years and it has never irritated his skin,he still has full head of hair and it isn't all grey.. We have never had a complaint and we have been manufacturing since 1985." Since 2015 he has been his washing hair and shaving every other day to help save on environmental resources. Lynda has only ever washed her hair once a week or when needed.

kind regards,
Lynda and Scott Ballard Directors/Owners of Kobashi.

Please note: We don't approve of deforestation. Oil palms yield more oil per acre than other crops, so the hype to avoid palm oil is only that, hype. Everything we as humans do will have an environmental consequence. Use the most efficient product per acr

To Use: Turn the bottle upside down and shake well.
To use: Shake, wash hair or body or add one to three caps full to the Bath.

Rinse well with water after use. As with all Shampoos, Soap and Bath products, keep out of eyes and do not take internally. Although, personally I have put in my eyes and eaten some without a problem we don't advice anyone to do so.

We have cut right back on preservatives, and use natural ones as much as possible. Using a preservative system allows us to use smaller amounts, still ensuring fungus, mould and bacteria do not grow. Anyone saying they do not use preservatives is doing you a disservice, as water and oil will grow fungus within a week without them.

Kobashi has never used SLS, but the fact is there is not a problem with SLS. The SLS scare was created by companies who want a competitive edge.

Phenoxyethanol is an organic compound that is in our Creams, Lotions, Soap, Shampoo and Bath Products at ~ 0 .3%.

These can come from natural organic sources, but they usually are synthetic. I would say Creams, Lotions, are 99.1% natural origin. You could say the Shampoo and Bath are 99.1% natural. The process for making most shampoo and soap on earth is not 100% natural, although this could be argued.

We have been using these preservatives for over 23 years without a problem. Our choice of preservative after much careful research, as it was last tested on animal's pre 1975. Although animal testing is done all over the world, and we do not agree with it. As committed Vegans this and is of importance to us.

Phenoxyethanol is an alternative to formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.
In Japan and the EU, its concentration in cosmetics is restricted to 1%. Kobashi uses 2/3 less than that used by the strictest countries.

The reality is all organic or synthetic compounds have their harmful and safe dose. It's all about dose and time. Example too much water will do what? When it is about cosmetics we should really stop all the scare mongering about anything used in the right dose; humans thrive and adapt. I would rather use something good to stop bacteria, mould and fungus, than be damaged by something that may not work. Most natural preservatives have to be used at too high a dose to work. If we find something that will work and that is safer we will change and use them.

Phenoxyethanol began to be used as an alternative to the formerly popular Paraben preservatives. I am always looking for the best. It takes years of testing to make sure the product is safe for the public.

Synthetic parabens are scientifically known to be safer than most natural compounds at workable doses.
Are you against parabens? Most likely yes, because of the scare mongering by natural companies like us.

Many of the companies that took preservatives out are having bacteria, mould and fungus problems. Even the so called natural preservatives won't give protection for that long.

Bacteria, mould and fungus can kill or harm us.

This preservative is very good against bacteria, mould and fungus.

1.) Benzyl alcohol is produced naturally by many plants and is commonly found in fruits and teas. It is also found in a variety of essential oils including jasmine, hyacinth, and ylang-ylang. Use in health care: Benzyl alcohol is used as a bacteriostatic preservative at low concentration in intravenous medications, cosmetics and topical drugs.

The use of benzyl alcohol as a 5% solution has been approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of head lice in children older than 6 months and in adults.

2.) Potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid, chemical formula CH3CH=CH-CH=CH-CO2K. It is a white salt that is very soluble in water (58.2% at 20 °C). It is primarily used as a food preservative (E number 202).[4] Potassium sorbate is effective in a variety of applications including food, wine, and personal care products. While sorbic acid is naturally occurring in some berries, virtually all of the world's production of sorbic acid, from which potassium sorbate is derived, is manufactured synthetically.

3.) Tocopherols (TCP) are a class of organic chemical compounds (more precisely, various methylated phenols), many of which have vitamin E activity.

4.) Phenoxyethanol is an organic compound.
Natural occurrences: Phenol is a normal metabolic product, excreted in quantities up to 40 mg/L in human urine. Occurrence in whisky: Phenol is a measurable component in the aroma and taste of the distinctive Islay Scotch whisky, generally ~30 ppm, but it can be over 160ppm in the malted barley used to produce whisky. This amount is different and presumably higher than the amount in the distillate.
