KOBASHI NEROLI BIGARADE OIL
100% Pure- AKA bitter Orange Blossom.

LATIN NAME: Citrus aurantium amara bigarade

SOURCE: Hydro-steam distilled from the flowers of the bitter orange tree. Neroli has to be extracted buy hydro steam distilling. If you don't place in water in the vessel, like all flowers, it would be turned in a waxy mass of sludge and you wouldn't get the steam through it.

COLOUR: Clear pale yellow.
ORIGIN: Tunisia from a small orchard of mature organically grown trees of early 1900's.
From the bitter orange top quality perfumery varieties, such as Bigarade Bouquet (riche depouille), Bigarade bouquetier à Grande fleurs and dwarfs. Distiller said, flowers are from trees that were planted by a French Man during colonisation.

AROMA: exquisite light floral, sweet, slight nutty under tone, characteristic of the fresh flowers

True 100% Neroli Citrus aurantium amara bigarade, (bigaradia) commonly known as the bitter, sour or Seville orange. Neroli is mainly from Morocco, Spain and Tunisia. other origins are Egypt, Sicily, Haiti, France, Brazil and USA. There is only 800 to 1200 kg produced a year. Fresh flowers yielded approximately 0.28%. Around 375 kg of petals creates approximately 1 kg or less of quality oil. (1 kg of flowers yields can produce about 1g bigarade oil, but many factors dictate yield.)

Warning from my supplier distiller for next year's kg price: " Another thing you are missing is that for the same oil profile I sold you this year, I received offers to sell it for USD 10,000 at wholesale price for next year."

There are thousands of essential oil and perfume companies. We only purchased 3kgs this time. If we were to do the maths at the lowest calculations there is much more Neroli being sold than is physically being grown and distilled.

Of course I can't give an exact amount, but IMO 95% of the companies selling what they call Neroli is a chemical concoction.

It is easy for a chemist to manufacture a blend of aroma chemicals (naturally or synthetically derived) and call it what ever they want.

The public will not know the difference without a good noise and in depth Gc-MS analysis by an expert.

QUALITIES: Antidepressant. calming and soothing during times of stress , helps restore sleep. Ideal for skin care, especially mature/dry types.

Used as an ingredient in eau de cologne and perfume: An ingredient in one of our luxury creams. We also have a hydrolat ( floral water) of neroli which is wonderful as a skin toner and conditioner. One kilo of blossoms yields about 1 ml of oil.

Not to be mistaken for the cheaper orange blossom oil which does not have the nutty flavour.

A member of the Rutaceae family, an evergreen tree up to ten metres high, with glossy dark green oval leaves. It has white fragrant flowers. Native to Asia but grows well in the Mediterranean

Most Neroli on the market now is being adulterated by adding LIMONENE, LINALOOL, LINALYL ACETATE, a-TERPINEOL, GERANYL ACETATE,NEROL, GERANIOL, NEROLIDOL, METHYL ANTHRANILATE.

Linalool Natural sells at USD 30-00 kilo, Limonene Natural at USD 2-50 kilo, Alpha Pinene at pennies.
Put them all together and you got a very profitable situation.
