Rose geranium essential oil (Pelargonium graveolens) has a scent quite reminiscent of roses. It is therefore a solution for composing rose perfumes, without resorting to synthesis. One of the great merits of aromatherapy research is to have noted the importance of what is called the phenotype of essential oils and to have systematized its analyses and controls. Rose geranium contains the two main aromatic molecules of the rose by their percentage, namely geraniol and citronellol, even if other important molecules differ.

Effects / why?

Like roses, rose geranium has a relaxing effect. Its sweet, floral, and fruity scent has a calming effect. The inhaled molecules act on the parasympathetic system, neutralizing stress. The hint of star anise works when inhaled by strengthening the energy in the solar plexus, thus acting against anxiety.
