Directions for use

These three incenses are designed to balance excessive tendencies related to our constitution, climate, seasons, activity, environment, etc. If your constitution is Vata or you are looking to balance an excess of "movement", use Vata incense 

Effects / why?

According to Ayurveda, every manifestation of nature is composed of the five elements: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. Their combination creates three life forces, or doshas: Vata, movement (ether and air); Pitta, transformation (fire and water); and Kapha, preservation (water and earth).

Each person has a unique constitution, composed of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, which determines their personal health balance. Every element of our daily lives influences this balance. The key to Ayurveda is understanding one's own constitution and knowing how Vata, Pitta, and Kapha interact in the body. Generally, the dosha that predominates in our constitution is also the one that is most likely to develop and most frequently leads to health problems.

By understanding the Vata-Pitta-Kapha combination that constitutes us, it becomes possible to better manage our behavioral tendencies, the strengths and weaknesses associated with them. The intensity of the doshas varies according to the seasons, the time of day, the environment, external events and the place where you live. To maintain your health, you simply need to adjust your diet, mental and physical activity. As your sensitivity is trained, you will be able to use the incense that best suits you and the situation.

History of this incense

Aromatherapy has been practiced in India for over 7,000 years. The Rig Veda, written between 1500 and 900 BC, and the Sucrutasamhitâ, written at the beginning of the Christian era, describe the use of plants according to the desired effects. Ayurvedic medicine has codified the use of many aromatic plants.

Karnataka Native Forests Solidarity Project

The Vivekananda Girijana Kalyana Kendra (VGKK), a humanitarian organization founded in 1981 by Dr. H. Sudarshan, is dedicated to developing a community of 20,000 people in their natural habitat in the forests of Karnataka. Ayurvedic incense and other products from our Bangalore partner are made by this community, known as the Soliga tribal community.

Why is this incense not labeled 100% natural? 

The conditions of use of the “100% natural” logo and its certification by ICEA are draconian! 

They incorporate precise milligram analysis technology (gas chromatography) for all ingredients used and, of course, for all finished products. Some of our Indian partners, who work exclusively with natural ingredients, cannot obtain this guarantee. Despite their efforts and recipes containing no synthetic products, the analyses revealed some traces of synthetic ingredients.

This may be due to the containers used by partners or their suppliers. Impurities in some ingredients, volatility between preparations, etc. The use of gas chromatography analysis is systematic in Europe, but this method is still rare in India.

For these reasons, although the ingredients in the recipes are natural, it is not possible to have these products analyzed and to affix our 100% natural logo given the degree of precision required by the control process.
