ABOUT THE PLANT
The raspberry plant belongs to the rose family and has been cultivated in German gardens since the Middle Ages. Over 1000 varieties are known. The raspberry grows as a subshrub in sunny locations and on humus-rich soil and, depending on the variety, produces red, pink or yellow berries, which are botanically collected fruits. The 20 to 30 individual berries are grouped around the base of the flower and detach from the cone when fully ripe.

OIL EXTRACTION
The yellow to orange raspberry seed oil with a slightly fruity scent is obtained from the ripe berries. To do this, the seeds are separated from the pulp, dried and mechanically cold pressed. About 10 kg of fresh raspberries are needed for 1 liter. Therefore it is very precious.

CHARACTERISTICS
Raspberry seed oil is rich in alpha-linolenic acid and phytochemicals. They protect against free radicals, UV radiation, skin aging and prevent skin diseases. The oil is light, absorbs quickly into the skin and is moisturizing.

APPLICATION
Raspberry seed oil is often used in sun protection, hair and nail products.
